The Disability Equity Office within the Equity, Civil Rights and Title IX Office and Information Technology Services are offering numerous training opportunities for faculty and staff on how to make digital content accessible.

The sessions will focus on learning about what digital accessibility is, how to apply accessibility best practices when creating content, and how to use accessibility tools in specific applications, such as Canvas, Google Docs or Microsoft Word.
This month’s sessions include:
- Digital Accessibility at U-M, an overview on what it means, why it matters and how to take action.
- Canvas Accessibility with Panorama, expert-led demonstrations on how to create and select accessible course materials, and how to use tools to make content accessible.
- Accessible Google Docs, a beginner workshop introducing core skills for creating accessible documents in Google Docs, and how to use the Grackle Docs accessibility tool.
- Accessible Word Documents, a beginner-friendly workshop on accessibility basics and how to apply accessibility best-practices to documents you create in Microsoft Word.
- Accessible PowerPoint Presentations, expert led demonstrations on how to make PowerPoint slide decks accessible and use the Microsoft Accessibility Checker.
- Accessible Google Slides, beginner-friendly workshop on core accessibility best practices for slide decks, such as alt text, slide layout, descriptive hyperlinks, color contrast, reading order and more.
- Digital Accessibility Office Hours, connect with accessibility experts to ask questions and troubleshoot.
