Regents share presidential search update

The Board of Regents recently shared an update on the search for the 17th president of the University of Michigan.

In an email message to the university community June 3, the board said the Presidential Search Committee has reconvened and candidate interviews are expected to begin soon.

“We are actively recruiting candidates and remain committed to identifying a visionary and dynamic leader who embodies the university’s core values and has a demonstrated record of excellence leading complex organizations,” the message said.

Last year’s search resulted in significant feedback that helped identify “institutional priorities, desired leadership attributes, and key challenges and opportunities for the university’s next president,” the message said.

“These themes continue to inform the leadership profile used by the Board of Regents and our search firm in the recruitment and selection process.”

Members of the community can share additional input by completing a brief confidential feedback form. Nominations may be submitted to [email protected], and more information is available on the Presidential Search website at search.regents.umich.edu.
