U-M can get moving with Active U Autumn this fall

Being physically active can improve brain health, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and help with performing everyday activities.

Active U Autumn returns this fall to encourage and support moving your body and staying active. Registration is now open for the eight-week program sponsored by MHealthy. Tracking activity minutes starts Sept. 18.

People of all fitness levels and abilities from across the university are encouraged to sign up. Active U Autumn offers individual and team participation. Program highlights include:

  • Multiple tracking options — Log minutes using the online portal or sync to an activity-tracking device or app.
  • Active U Autumn Slack channel — Connect with other participants, share photos, find encouragement and stay motivated. Available to faculty and staff only.
  • Exercise video library — More than 250 videos are available. Categories include strength training, cardio, yoga, meditation and more.
  • Swag Squad — Enter to win $25 gift cards by sharing photos and posting to Active U Autumn’s Slack channel.
  • Charity of choice — During the program, participants are encouraged to donate to MHealthy’s Resource Coach Mini Grant program. It offers support to U-M faculty and staff experiencing a financial crisis or other personal hardship.

Active U Autumn is open to all faculty, staff, students, retirees and employees’ spouses/other qualified adults. The deadline to register is Oct. 2.
