“If you are enthusiastic about health and well-being, like to positively motivate others and want to play a key role in creating a healthy culture in your workplace, we hope to hear from you,” says Lisa Schneider, MHealthy and U-M Health System Patient Education Center project facilitator.

MHealthy Champions have the opportunity to:

• Help tailor activities that best fit their area.

• Work with MHealthy to achieve their area’s health improvement goals.

• Play a key role in building a healthier workplace culture.

• Be recognized personally for contributions and gain recognition for their department or work area.

Champions serve a two-year term and spend approximately two hours per month on their responsibilities. They are also expected to attend one meeting a year and participate in a webinar and an optional regional meeting.

In 2013, more than 360 employees across the university’s three campuses and the health system served as MHealthy Champions.

“Our goal is to have a representative group of our entire university community that includes diversity in job roles, age, race, and gender,” says Schneider.
