President calls for review of player safety procedures
President Mark S. Schlissel has made a strong statement expressing his “extreme disappointment” in the events surrounding quarterback Shane Morris’ injury in Saturday’s loss to Minnesota, and instructed Athletics to conduct a thorough review of in-game player safety procedures, particularly those involving head injuries.
• Also on Tuesday, Athletic Director Dave Brandon issued a detailed accounting of the sequence of events regarding how Morris’ injury was handled.
