Consent begins Nov. 28 to receive Form 1095 electronically
Faculty and staff can consent starting Nov. 28 to receive their Form 1095 tax document electronically. If consent was given previously, that consent remains in effect and no further action is needed.

Astronomer James Craig Watson was U-M’s “brightest son.” After discovering 22 asteroids between 1863-77, during a solar eclipse in 1878, Watson was sure he’d observed the rumored intra-mercurial planet Vulcan.

Obituary — Veronica Latta Smith
Regent Emerita Veronica Latta Smith, died peacefully at her Grosse Ile, Michigan, home Nov. 13. She was 97. In 1984, she was elected to the Board of Regents, and was known as the “Students’ Regent.”

Obituary — William R. Solomon
William R. Solomon, professor emeritus of internal medicine, died peacefully the morning of Nov. 6. He combined his love of botany and science by specializing in internal medicine at U-M until he retired in 2012.

Debate team wins third straight fall term ‘national championship’
The U-M Debate Program has won the 2022 66th annual Franklin R. Shirley Classic, widely considered the national collegiate debate championship of the fall semester.
