   George Dock, professor of internal medicine, was the first full-time professor of medicine in the United States. Yet for all Dock’s fame as a practitioner, he made an even greater impact as a teacher.

   Obituary — William R. Solomon

   William R. Solomon, professor emeritus of internal medicine, died peacefully the morning of Nov. 6. He combined his love of botany and science by specializing in internal medicine at U-M until he retired in 2012.

   Obituary — William Darrel Ensminger

   William Darrel Ensminger, professor emeritus of internal medicine and pharmacology, died peacefully in his sleep at age 79 on March 11.
