New policy to cover cell phones, other mobile technology
Mobile technology tools like cell phones will be governed by a new universitywide policy that will take effect Jan. 1, 2013. Units may implement the policy anytime between now and the end of the calendar year.

New joint biomedical engineering department holds promise for better healthcare technologies
In an effort to develop more technologies that improve health care, U-M will establish a Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) with footholds in its top-ranked College of Engineering and Medical School, in an action approved by the Board of Regents July 19. The change takes effect Sept. 1.
