    Regents approve Susan Collins to be interim provost

    Susan M. Collins has been appointed U-M’s interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. She had been serving in an acting capacity since late January.

    Martin A. Philbert has been removed as executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at U-M. President Mark Schlissel said he will recommend the Board of Regents appoint Acting Provost Susan M. Collins as interim provost.

    Susan M. Collins, former dean of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, has been appointed U-M’s acting provost. She is stepping into the role because of the administrative leave of Provost Martin Philbert.
