Moving and preserving history
Read more about what was involved in moving the Wallenberg houseWith help from numerous partners, the University of Michigan slowly and carefully moved a piece of history Nov. 22, adding a new chapter to the legacy of alumnus Raoul Wallenberg. The Wallenberg house traveled two blocks in 52 minutes. Talaski Building Movers slid the structure onto its new foundation and lowered it into place. This video shares some of the background and coordination that went into the move as well as highlights of the move itself.

Read more about this partnership between Dentistry and AthleticsIt’s been more than 65 years since the late William Godwin, a School of Dentistry faculty member, embraced the challenge of how to protect athletes’ teeth from injury. Collaborating with other dentists and U-M athletic trainers, Godwin began a decades-long quest to invent, improve and promote the use of mouthguards. This work has benefitted countless athletes at the university and around the world. In this video, Dennis Fasbinder, clinical professor of dentistry, shares some of the history and the process that’s involved in creating mouthguards.
