University Record cuts back print editions in April

Topics:

The University Record is reducing publication of its print edition for the month of April, and will publish April 20 only.

The decision to suspend previously scheduled April publication dates is due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic at U-M. With access to most campus buildings limited to authorized key-card users, on-campus distribution has been effectively halted.

Where possible, the Record print editions will be delivered to open buildings, including those on the Medical Campus. Limited delivery will be made through campus mail to those units still being served, and retirees and First Class Mail subscribers will be mailed their copies.

The Record will continue to publish its daily email newsletter and will regularly update its website at record.umich.edu.

The print edition currently is scheduled to resume its regular, reduced summer schedule May 4, with subsequent print editions set for May 26, June 8, June 22, July 20 and Aug. 10. The Record’s 2020-21 weekly schedule will resume Aug. 31.

The Record email will transition from daily to weekly delivery for the summer the week of Memorial Day. The first weekly editions will be May 27. The daily email will resume Aug. 31 with the start of the fall semester.
