Show your U-M spirit by joining members of the marching band and cheerleading squad as they gather at noon today (July 14) on the Diag in hopes of earning Ann Arbor the distinction of becoming “TitleTown USA.” ESPN will be there to interview alumnus and Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard.
The city is among 20 finalists in the ESPN SportsCenter contest. The “TitleTown USA” series will name the nation’s top sports town through a process that includes fan-generated nominations and online voting, and recommendations from a panel of judges that considered the numerous titles and awards earned by U-M athletic teams. The winning city will be unveiled on ESPN SportsCenter on July 27. The Ann Arbor segment will air July 20.
