Beginning Thursday, one block of East Madison Street between Packard Street and Thompson Street will be closed for construction activity associated with the Munger Graduate Residences project.
The road closure will run until summer 2015.
The closure includes the sidewalks on both sides of Madison Street. Vehicles and pedestrians will be detoured north on Division Street or south on Packard Street to Thompson Street. Detour signage for both vehicles and pedestrians will be posted.
The Board of Regents approved the Munger Graduate Residence during its April meeting. The $185 million, approximately 380,000-square-foot, eight-story building will house more than 600 occupants in a unique, high-density residential-academic arrangement.
