Search begins for Law School dean

The Search Advisory Committee for the Dean of the Law School met for the first time last Friday.

Theodore J. St. Antoine, the James E. and Sarah A. Degan Professor of Law, is chair of the committee appointed by Provost Gilbert R. Whitaker Jr.

Whitaker said the search will be national in scope and his goal is to have Dean Lee C. Bollinger’s successor in place, effective this July 1. Bollinger will be leaving the U-M to become provost at Dartmouth College.

Other members of the search committee are Heidi Li Feldman, assistant professor of law; Debra Ann Livingston, assistant professor of law; William I. Miller, professor of law; Terrance Sandalow, the Edson R. Sunderland Professor of Law; Roopal Shah, law student; and Kent D. Syverud, professor of law. Patricia Du-Charme, business manager, Office of the Provost, will provide staff support. E. Kay Dawson, assistant to the provost, will serve as the liaison between the Office of the Provost and the committee. All committee members may be reached by electronic mail using the acronym LAW SEARCH.
