Residency includes public events

The Stratford Theatre Festival company’s residency on the Ann Arbor campus this week includes a number of public events.

Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest will be presented at 8 p.m. Tues. (Nov. 16) and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wed. (Nov. 17) at the Power Center for the Performing Arts.

Also scheduled is Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 8 p.m. Fri. (Nov. 19) and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sat. (Nov. 20), also at the Power Center.

Free Phillips Educational Presentations include:

  • A chat with David William, artistic director of the Stratford Festival, 7 p.m. Tues. (Nov. 16), Rackham East Lecture Room.

  • Post-performance chats with members of the Earnest cast following the evening performance Nov. 16 and the matinee performance Nov. 17, both in the Power Center Theatre, and in the Green Room following the Nov. 17 evening performance.

    Members of the Dream cast will be available in the Power Center Theatre following their three performances.

    Tickets range from $25 to $42. Some discounted student tickets also may be available. For information, call the UMS box office, 764-2538.
