According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the best way to prevent influenza is to receive a seasonal flu shot. U-M faculty and staff covered under a university health plan can receive their flu vaccination on campus without paying an out-of-pocket fee.
U-M Health System faculty, staff, medical or nursing students and volunteers can receive free flu vaccinations through U-M Occupational Health Services. More information and a list of options are available at www.med.umich.edu/u/flu. This URL can only be accessed using a U-M computer or virtual network.

Employees covered under a U-M health insurance plan will not be charged an out-of-pocket fee when they bring their insurance card to one of the MHealthy/MVC on-site clinics. The cost of the flu shot will be charged directly to their health plan.
Employees not covered under an accepted insurance plan can still receive a flu shot at a rate of $25 per person, payable by cash, check or credit card.
In addition to the MHealthy/MVC clinics, non-UMHS employees can also get a flu shot by appointment at the University Health Service or at the office of their primary care provider. More information is available at www.uhs.umich.edu/fluvaccination.
