Editor’s Note: The following actions were approved by the Regents at their January meeting.
Four administrative appointments ok’d
Administrative appointments approved included:
Ludwig Koenen, the Herbert C. Youtie Professor of Papyrology, will continue to serve as chair of the Department of Classical Studies, effective July 1–Dec. 31, 1994.
Ctirad Uher, professor of physics, will chair the Department of Physics for a five-year term beginning July 1.
Jackie R. McClain, director of human resources at the University of Kansas, was appointed executive director of human resources and affirmative action, effective Feb. 15.
Ada Sue Hinshaw, director of the National Institute for Nursing Research at the National Institutes of Health, was named dean of the School of Nursing.
Her appointment will be for a five-year term, effective July 1. She also will serve as professor of nursing, with tenure.
$15 million in gifts accepted
A total of $15,044,260 in gifts received during December 1993 was accepted, including $12,062,823 from individuals, $1,057,719 from corporations, $1,373,666 from foundations, and $550,052 from associations and others.
