Editor’s Note: The following actions were taken by the Regents at their October meeting.

Appointments ok’d

Faculty and administrative appointments included:

Lawrence R. Kuhns, from Wayne State University, will become professor of radiology, with tenure, effective Jan. 1.

David W. Cohen, professor of history and of anthropology, also will serve as director of the International Institute, effective Oct. 22.

Paul Danos, the Arthur Andersen Professor of Accounting, who has been associate dean at the School of Business Administration, will become senior associate dean, effective Nov. 1.

$5.2 million in gifts received

The Regents formally accepted $5,240,576 in gifts received during September, including $2,902,808 from individuals, $1,011,841 from corporations, $801,817 from foundations, and $524,110 from associations and others.
