The first Faculty Senate meeting in more than a year will take place Nov. 21 and feature an address by President Santa J. Ono.
The meeting will also include a discussion on whether to expand the Faculty Senate to include clinical faculty and lecturers.
The event is open to the public and will take place from 3:15-5 p.m. in Room 2000 of the Alexander G. Ruthven Building. Up to about 200 people can be seated on a first come, first served basis.
The meeting also will be able to be viewed via a livestream that will be sent out closer to the date of the meeting.
The Faculty Senate consists of all tenure-track professorial faculty, research faculty, librarians, executive officers of the university and deans of each school or college.
Faculty Senate Chair Silvia Pedraza announced at the Oct. 24 Senate Assembly meeting that Ono reached out to the Faculty Senate Office and requested time during the University Senate meeting to give a presentation, the details of which have not been announced.
