Photo: Top shots from Eastman House Collection at UMMA

“Rethinking the Photographic Image: The Best of Photography and Film from the George Eastman House Collection” April 22-June 25 at the U-M Museum of Art (UMMA) will feature more than 200 images including well-known gems such as Matthew Brady’s portrait of Abraham Lincoln and Lewis Wickes Hine’s 1920 portrait of a mechanic, above. This is the final exhibition to appear in Alumni Memorial Hall before a restoration and expansion begins this summer. (Photo by Louis Wickes Hine)
