Students K-12 throughout southeast Michigan will have the opportunity to participate in educational experiences as part of the “MLK Children and Youth Program: A Day Filled with Creativity, Dialogue and Entertainment.” Right, a youth takes part in last year’s event. In commemorating the dream of Martin Luther King Jr., a variety of age-appropriate learning activities will include creative art designs, storytelling and group dialogue. Performances will feature musical artists Robert Jones, Frances Wang, 58 Greene, rap poet Will Copeland and the Lincoln High School steppers. The event is 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Modern Language Building, 812 E. Washington. (Photo by Scott Soderberg, U-M Photo Services)
