Photo: Melanoma screening

After learning he had a melanoma a few years ago, Athletic Director Bill Martin decided to hold regular skin cancer screenings for the department’s coaches and staff. Here, Dr. Timothy M. Johnson — director of the Cutaneous Oncology and Multidisciplinary Melanoma Programs and Lewis and Lillian Becker Professor of Dermatology — checks for signs of melanoma, basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas on Katie Reeves, senior secretary in the Athletic Development Office. Johnson and his team found possible skin cancer on several of the people who attended the screening.
