MHealthy has launched its annual Rewards program, designed to encourage benefits-eligible faculty and staff to choose healthy behaviors.
For 2019, the program consists of only two actions to earn $100 — completing a wellness screening and the StayWell health questionnaire. Completing the health questionnaire also qualifies employees for a fitness center membership reimbursement up to $120.
Registration now is open for on-site wellness screenings. The 20-minute confidential appointment includes measuring blood pressure, total and HDL cholesterol, height and weight. No fasting is required.
The screening also features a one-on-one session with a health coach to review results and set an action plan. The university has again partnered with The StayWell Company, LLC to ensure screening results are private and confidential.
Wellness screenings are available at more than 55 U-M locations from Jan. 9 through April 26. Weekday, weekend, evening and early morning appointments are available.
“With the New Year right around the corner, many of us are thinking about our health, how to improve or maintain our well-being, or even where to begin,” says Karen Schmidt, director of MHealthy Programs and Services. “Knowing your numbers is a good starting point and can help you set health-related goals for the rest of the year.”
The confidential health questionnaire opens Jan. 9 and can be accessed on the StayWell Portal from a computer or mobile device. It takes about five minutes to complete and helps individuals annually reflect on their overall well-being and consider what health areas to work on.
Fitness center membership reimbursement
Those who complete the health questionnaire Jan. 9 through April 26 will again have the opportunity to get up to $120 for a qualifying fitness center membership. For every month between January and October 2019 that an employee verifies payment for their membership, they can earn a $12 per month credit. Verify up to 10 months to earn up to $120.
More information on how to verify payments and the list of eligible facilities is available on the MHealthy Rewards website.
To ensure the confidentiality of the information collected within the Rewards program, U-M continues its partnership with The StayWell Company, LLC, a national provider of health improvement services, to administer the health questionnaire and wellness screening, and IncentFit to administer the fitness center membership reimbursement service.
