Issari serves on national coalition

Kata Issari, counselor at the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center, has been elected vice president of the board of directors of the National Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NCASA). NCASA is a coalition of women’s centers, rape crisis/sexual assault programs, and professionals in the United States and Canada that monitors public policy and legislation related to sexual violence, provides expert testimony to Congress and state legislatures, and works for assault prevention education.

Harvard Press publishes Anderson’s book

Value in Ethics and Economics, by Elizabeth S. Anderson, assistant professor of philosophy, has been published by the Harvard University Press. The book offers “a new theory of value and rationality that rejects cost-benefit analysis in our social lives and in our ethical theories.”

Article by Semetko honored

Holli Semetko, assistant professor of communication, has received an award for Outstanding Article for 1992 from the editors of the International Journal of Public Opinion Research. The article was on “TV News and Public Opinion About Foreign Countries: The Impact of Exposure and Attention.”
