“Keith is a long-standing and highly respected faculty member at UM-Flint. His depth of experience and knowledge of the university, and about faculty affairs, in particular, provide him with the necessary foundation to undertake this important role,” said UM-Flint Chancellor Deba Dutta.

Moreland joined UM-Flint in 1994. He previously served as associate dean of the School of Management from 2004-06 and the interim dean of the School of Health Professions and Studies in 2015.

“I’m appreciative of the opportunity to work with Chancellor Dutta and serve the university in this interim role,” Moreland said. “I look forward to supporting the work of all the dedicated people in Academic Affairs and throughout the campus as we move forward during this transition period.”

Moreland also is active in professional organizations, including as a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Financial Literacy Task Force and Accounting Educators’ Task Force, of which he is a former chair and vice chair.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in accounting, from U-M in 1977, followed by a Master of Business Administration degree and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Cincinnati.
