The Office of Budget and Planning has published a reimagined, interactive digital version of its popular Michigan Almanac data resource.

Originally created in 2013, the annual Michigan Almanac is a consolidated source of data and narrative to give readers an overview of the University of Michigan as well as illustrating how different institutional functions and metrics interconnect. The Almanac includes statistics and explanatory information about student enrollment, affordability, student success, faculty and staff, and budget, among other topics.

The annual offering is used by leaders and communicators across campus, as well as by government officials, prospective students, and policymakers. This release incorporates significant improvements that include two new chapters on health and well-being and community engagement & public service. This new version includes a number of enhancements including navigation aids, interactive charts, and chapter landing pages with key facts and highlights.

“The Almanac is one of the most comprehensive, accessible repositories of institutional information produced by the university,” said Laurie McCauley, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “It’s extremely useful for so many on campus and beyond. It also comports with our mission as a public university – disseminating knowledge in a useful, transparent way that is easy to understand.

“I’m extremely proud of the team responsible for this refresh. They have infused great vitality into the experience of perusing our institutional data.”

The 2026 Almanac’s contents include a university overview, as well as sections on Undergraduate Admissions and Enrollment, Affordability, Student Success, Graduate Students, Faculty and Staff, Campus Demographics, Teaching and Learning, Research and Technology Transfer, Budget and Fundraising, Space and Sustainability, Academic and Reputational Rankings, Health and Well-Being, and Community Engagement and Public Service.
