Take Care programs consist of exhibitions, concerts, performances, workshops and more. A full list of events can be found in the Happening@Michigan events calender. Here are a few upcoming highlights.

Community Sing: Take Care

Community Sing: Take Care is a participatory community experience. Share in music’s power to heal, bring people together, and cope in challenging times. This event is free and open to the public. Bring your own water bottle and wear pastels!  Snacks will be provided by the Michigan Community Scholars Program. The concert will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 13 on Ingalls Mall. RSVP here.

Photo Competition: Connection

The Arts Initiative is seeking student photos inspired by the theme “Connection.” Selected photos will be displayed across campus and online from Sept. 23–Oct. 18. Winners will receive cash prizes of up to $200. Submissions close Sept.19. Submit work here.

Student Art Exhibition Open Call

The Arts Initiative is seeking student artwork for a juried art exhibition on the theme Take Care. Accepted media include visual art of all forms, 2D and 3D art, video, performance and literary arts. Submissions are open to all undergraduate and graduate students. Submissions close Nov. 18. Submit work here.

Free Workshops

The Arts Initiative, in partnership with Wolverine Wellness, is launching a series of free art-making workshops as part of Take Care. These workshops are an opportunity to create art, brush up on dance techniques, and other artistic forms. Led by local and regional artists, the workshops are open to the U-M and local communities. No prior experience required. All supplies necessary will be provided at the workshop. The Arts Initiative is offering workshops from Sept. 16-Nove. 20.
