Group revising smoking policy

A subcommittee of the University’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy Council is working on changes to the University smoking policy that will make the U-M a smoke-free campus. The group’s study of the issue is prompted by new concerns about the health hazards of environmental tobacco smoke. The council reports to George D. Zuidema, vice provost for medical affairs.

Zuidema notes that the group is working on a draft that will serve as a focus for campuswide discussions starting winter term.
