Employees invited to free MHealthy tailgate events this week

Fall is fast approaching, which means football season, cooler weather and the last few days to get outdoors and enjoy warmer temperatures.

On Tuesday and Thursday, all Ann Arbor university faculty and staff are invited to attend “MHealthy’s Big Tailgates,” outdoor events featuring games, healthy tailgate snacks, tailgate activities, information booths, giveaways and more.

Events are scheduled from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at Ingalls Mall and Thursday at the University Hospital Courtyard. A one-mile walk/run through the Arb also is scheduled for 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday.

“These events are a great reason to get outside and enjoy the last few days of summer, while learning about fun ways to stay active, eat smarter and just feel better,” says Colleen Greene, MHealthy senior wellness coordinator.

“Join us for a few minutes during your lunch or break and sample healthy tailgate snacks, talk with an MHealthy expert, tackle our inflatable obstacle course or sign up for our first-ever Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament.”

Employees who attend a tailgate event will receive an MHealthy water bottle or cinch bag (quantities are limited). Additionally, benefits-eligible employees who attend these events can enter MHealthy’s November Grand Prize Drawing for a chance to win one of six $500 American Express gift cards. To enter, employees must have their U-M ID swiped at the event.

It would have been nice if MHealthy would have done something for those of us on North Campus. We are left out each season. The ability to get to Central or Med campus to a attend the event and get back within a lunch hour is not overly feasible.

I agree with Kathie. Why are we, on North Campus, left out?
