Sexual assaults reported at University Hospital On June 9, a patient reported that a patient sitter inappropriately touched her while sleeping. After further investigation this case was unfounded. A $5 million gift has established the Graham Sustainability Institute’s new Carbon Neutrality Acceleration Program, a program to support faculty research that will reduce carbon emissions.

Susan A. Gelman, a psychology and linguistics professor who is a world leader in the field of psychological science, has been named U-M’s 2021 Henry Russel Lecturer, and four junior faculty members will receive Henry Russel Awards.

Faculty members Nicholas Kotov, Arthur Lupia, Annemarie Sullivan Palincsar, Lutgarde M. Raskin and Donald R. Zak have received one of U-M’s top honors as Distinguished University Professors.

Vincent Hutchings, Amy Schulz, Daphne C. Watkins and Camille Wilson have been named recipients of the University Diversity and Social Transformation Professorship.

Susan M. Collins, a public policy and economics professor and former Ford School dean who had been U-M’s interim provost, has been named provost and executive vice president for academic affairs through June 30, 2022.

Richard Anders Johnson of Ann Arbor, retired clinical professor in the School of Dentistry, died June 28 at age 78.
