Carlos Francisco Jackson, a professor and associate dean in the University of California, Davis’ College of Letters and Science, has been appointed dean of the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design.

Vicki Ellingrod, the John Gideon Searle Professor and professor of pharmacy, has been named the next dean of the College of Pharmacy.

Donna L. Hayward, associate dean of libraries, has been appointed U-M’s interim university librarian and dean of libraries, effective July 1.

Jacqueline Jeruss has joined the Office of the Vice President for Research to lead universitywide efforts around research policy and compliance.

The President’s Residence will undergo updates to address essential accessibility upgrades and enhance functionality, safety and security while preserving historical features.

U-M will honor two former presidents by naming spaces on campus in their honor. The Randall Laboratory addition will be renamed the Homer A. Neal Laboratory, and a gathering space in the newly renovated Ruthven Building will be named the Robben and Aldyth Fleming Reception Room. 

W.E. Upjohn’s family has come together on the 100th anniversary of his initial gift of peonies in 1922 with a donation of $2 million to name the garden the W.E. Upjohn Peony Garden.

U-M’s Women of Color in the Academy Project will present its 10th annual Shirley Verrett Award to Ashley Lucas for her visionary leadership that demonstrates the power of theatre to change lives and promote social justice.

Two proposals have been approved for funding in the third and final round for hiring tenure track faculty through the university’s Anti-Racism Hiring Initiative.
