Assembly will review administrative pay

Senate Assembly voted unanimously Monday to ask the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs (SACUA) to look into the broad issue of administrative pay.

Following a recent announcement of 8 percent to 14 percent raises for top University administrators, Assembly Chair Henry Griffin said he heard comments from a number of faculty members concerned about the raises.

Milan Marich, associate professor of education, suggested faculty consider the administrative raises in terms of

equity. Such an analysis could lead to discussion on salary equity across departmental lines, noted Robin Kelley, associate professor of history and of Afroamerican and African Studies.

SACUA will report back to the Assembly in December, Griffin said.
