Art auction benefits Cancer Center

The fourth annual Spring to Life Benefit Brunch and Art Auction, with proceeds going to the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center, will include more than 100 donated works from artists and galleries nationwide. Featured will be jewelry, antiques, paintings, pottery, glass, fibers and wood.

The art works will be up for bid in a silent auction at noon April 17, at the Washtenaw Community College Events Atrium, 4800 East Huron River Drive.

Special guests will be alumna Geral-dine Bledsoe Ford, Detroit Recorders Court judge, and former Red Wing hockey star Nick Libett.

Culinary delights will be provided by Cousins Heritage Inn, Food for All Seasons, Moveable Feast and the Ritz-Carleton-Dearborn.

Tickets, a portion of which is tax-deductible, are $75 for donors, $125 for sponsors and $250 for benefactors. For information or to purchase tickets, call Roxanne Romain, 936-9583.

The public may browse and bid on auction items during a preview reception 6:30–9 p.m. Wednesday (April 6) at Jacobson’s in Briarwood Mall.
