Alcohol Awareness Week Events

The University has scheduled a number of free, public events in connection with Alcohol Awareness Week:

Sunday (Nov. 6)

  • Filmfest: Days of Wine and Roses, 9 p.m., State Theater.

    Monday (Nov. 7)

  • Crashed Car, from an alcohol-related accident, displayed on the Diag.

  • Self-Help Panel Discussion, including Moderation Management, Alcoholics Anonymous, Women for Sobriety, Rational Recovery and Secular Organization for Sobriety. 7–8 p.m., Rackham Amphitheater.

  • Filmfest, Street Car Named Desire, 9 p.m., State Theater.

    Tuesday (Nov. 8)

  • Speakers Pat Summerall and Bruce Kimball, 7 p.m., Crisler Arena.

  • Talk to Us Presentation, 9 p.m., West Quadrangle Library.

    Wednesday (Nov. 9)

  • Speaker Mike Green, (humorous), 8 p.m. Rackham Auditorium.

  • Filmfest, Bird, 9 p.m., State Theater.

  • Mocktail parties and contests in selected residence halls during dinner.

    Thursday (Nov. 10)

  • Alcohol and the Law, Doug Lewis, 6:30–7:30 p.m., Alpha Chi Omega (1212 Hill St.), all students welcome.

  • Filmfest, When a Man Loves a Woman, 9 p.m., State Theater.

  • Mocktail parties and contests in selected residence halls during dinner.

    Friday (Nov. 11)

    Filmfest movie analysis with film buff and counselor Tom Morson, noon–1:30 p.m., call 763-1320 for location.

    Post-U-M Alcohol Awareness Week:

    Saturday (Nov. 19)

  • Club Fabulous, Continuing in the spirit of Alcohol Awareness Week, drink mocktails and dance to your heart’s content starting at 9 p.m. Call Lesbian Gay Bisexual Programs Office, 763-4186, for location.
