Jerome Nriagu, professor, Environmental Health Sciences, and research scientist, Center for Human Growth and Development, is the recipient of a $75,000 Humboldt Research Award in recognition of lifetime achievements in research and in encouragement of international collaboration.
Alan Wineman, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor, professor of mechanical engineering, professor of macromolecular science and engineering and professor of biomedical engineering, College of Engineering, has been selected to receive the Society of Engineering Science William Prager Medal for his outstanding research contributions in theoretical solid mechanics. Wineman will present the Plenary Lecture upon receiving the award at the upcoming Conference on Mechanics and Materials.
