At Spring Commencement May 1, 1993, first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton told graduates, “I’ve always thought of Michigan as one of those institutions whose commitment to academic excellence and to public service certainly made it stand out above so many others.” She urged graduates to be idealistic, to care about the world and be connected to other people. — From The University Record
