On Dec. 11, 2010, The Big Chill at the Big House event featured the U-M and Michigan State University hockey teams playing in a rink at Michigan Stadium. More than 100,000 attended, a world-record crowd for an outdoor hockey game. U-M won 5-0. — Background courtesy The Michigan Daily

This month in history (76 years ago)The Charles Baird Carillon housed in the Burton Memorial Tower was dedicated on Dec. 4, 1936, following tower construction. It was named for U-M President Marion Leroy Burton (president from 1920-25).
