Before the Munich conference at the end of September 1938, an editorial in the Michigan Daily condemned giving in to Nazi Germany. Another urged students to attend a rally on campus to save Czechoslovakia, with warnings that appeasement of Hitler would encourage Nazi aggression. About 250 attended.
