Business School awarded $295,000

Lawrence A. Molnar, director of the Center for Economic Diversification at the Business School, accepted a $295,000 award last Friday from Phillip A. Singerman, assistant secretary of Commerce for Economic Development.

Pictured left to right are Congresswoman Lynn Rivers; Marian J. Krzysowski, director of the Michigan Business Assistance Domestic Corps (MBA Domestic Corps); Molnar; Lawrence L. Root, director of the Institute for Labor and Industrial Relations; and Singerman.

The award will support an innovative study of the economic impact of small business incubators—facilities that nurture start-up businesses by providing them with shared space, office equipment, support staff, loading docks, transportation and other services that can enable them to grow and become self-sufficient.
