Call for all staff to join the biggest staff photo shoot ever

Topics:

All U-M staff are invited to help celebrate 200 years of Michigan staff and show their bicentennial year spirit as part of a photo session at the Big House on Sept. 28.

From 8:30-9 a.m. as many staff as possible are needed to help spell out a huge “200” on the football field.  Participants are asked to wear maize and blue and enter via the east side entrance of Michigan Stadium promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Parking in the vicinity of the Big House is limited. Staff members are encouraged to take the bus or carpool and plan to leave early. Limited parking is available in a Yellow lot adjacent to Crisler Center and the stadium, nearby Blue lots, a visitor lot at the corner of Greene and Hoover streets and some street parking near the stadium.

For bus route information, visit the Parking & Transportation Services website.

The photo session is part of the yearlong celebration of U-M’s bicentennial in 2017 that will include MStaff200, an event honoring U-M staff, to be held on the Diag on June 27, 2017.

I hope that this is not ill-conceived. Many staff depend on arriving early in order to enjoy parking space. I wonder if the timing is problematic.

I would love to do this but like most folks will already be at work. Getting time off is the issue, and parking.

If retired staff are welcome we could help to swell the numbers, but of course parking would be even more problematic for us.

We would very much like retired staff to join us and hope to see you there!

Thanks for those of you who have expressed concerns about the timing and the parking. We hear you!

We didn’t have a choice in the time but, since U-M staff work many different shifts, and some have flexibility in their work schedules, we hope that as many staff as possible can attend. Our time of 8:30-9:00 is firm, so it will be a challenge to have folks arrive on time, get in place, and take the photo. But we can do it!

Parking is also a challenge, so we encourage folks to get their parking spot in the morning and take the bus or carpool to the photo shoot.

We hope you can join us!

Great idea! Well organized and implemented for such a large group…the bus was a wonderful option! When and where will we see the photo(s)?

I concur with others – fantastic event, and very easy to get in and out. Is there an e-mail address we’re supposed to contact and submit our name if we attended?

    Thanks to the organizers!

We are so happy with the turnout–over 1100 people participated! And it was a lot of fun!

Stay tuned to the Record for news about the MStaff200 event to be held next year–a huge party for all active and retired U-M staff to honor their contributions and celebrate the U-M’s bicentennial birthday.
