Total numbers for the program’s sixth year show nearly 18,000 benefits-eligible faculty and staff completed a confidential wellness screening and nearly 20,000 completed the annual health questionnaire.
“We hope to continue to see the positive trends we’ve experienced over the last five years that show reductions in the number of U-M faculty and staff considered high risk for various health issues,” says LaVaughn Palma-Davis, senior director of University Health & Well-Being Services.
“In the U.S., chronic diseases are the main causes of poor health, disability, and death, and account for the majority of health-care costs. Continuing our progress can help us achieve our goal of improving the health and quality of life of our U-M community. The leaders of these exemplary units, including our MHealthy Champions, are to be commended.”
