The program Understanding Alzheimer’s from 7-8:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Ann Arbor District Library will detail the latest research on Alzheimer’s disease.
Participants also will hear about tips and resources that increase comfort, help maintain activity and help people cope.
Scheduled speakers from the Alzheimer’s Association will provide an overview of the disease and information on support available to victims and families. The association regularly helps inform people how to navigate the difficult decisions and uncertainties people with Alzheimer’s and their families face at every stage of the disease.
U-M experts scheduled to discuss current trends in dementia research and opportunities to participate are: Bruno Giordani, director, Clinical Core, Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and section director, Neuropsychology Section, Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (MADRC); and Dr. Nancy Barbas, associate professor, Department of Neurology and director, Cognitive Disorders Clinic.
