A history of support

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has supported UM-Flint from its inception. In all, the foundation has granted more than $92 million to U-M for projects at its Flint and Ann Arbor campuses. These funds have supported various projects, programs and initiatives, as well as major capital improvements.

Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Flint campuses ask state for capital funds

The University of Michigan's Ann Arbor, Flint and Dearborn campuses each submitted requests for capital funding and a five-year capital plan to the state of Michigan.

When a project is made possible through capital outlay funding, the cost is allocated between the university and the state of Michigan.

S. Jack Hu named vice president for research

S. Jack Hu has been appointed vice president for research at the University of Michigan. His three-year appointment was approved Thursday by the Board of Regents.

U-M Health System projects to improve energy efficiency

A $3 million project for new occupancy sensors and a $1.3 million air handler upgrade project will improve energy efficiency at the U-M Health System's University Hospital.

The two projects were approved Thursday by the Board of Regents.

University endowment valued at $10 billion in FY 2015

The University of Michigan's long-term investment strategy continues to provide the university with a steady stream of endowment funding, with fiscal year 2015 distributions increasing to $294.5 million as the total value of the endowment rose to $10 billion.
