    The university has released recommendations to overhaul policies that govern the dismissal of tenured faculty. Feedback is being sought through May 4 on changes to Regents’ Bylaws 5.09 and 5.10.

    U-M dismisses David Daniels from SMTD faculty

    David Daniels has been dismissed from his role as professor of voice in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance. He had been on administrative leave since August 2018 following public allegations of sexual misconduct.

    Rebecca Cunningham, an emergency medicine physician whose research addresses critical issues ranging from firearm violence to opioid abuse, has been appointed vice president for research.

    Martino Harmon named U-M vice president for student life

    Martino Harmon, who currently serves as the senior vice president for student affairs at Iowa State University, has been appointed vice president for student life at U-M effective July 1.

    The WilmerHale law firm will take over the independent investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct regarding the late Robert E. Anderson, who worked as a physician for U-M from the 1960s to 2003.
