The U-M athletic department expects a budget deficit of $62.9 million for the current fiscal year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and projects a surplus of $1.4 million for the fiscal year that begins July 1.

Athletic director Warde Manuel has announced that the university and head football coach Jim Harbaugh have reached an agreement on a contract extension that runs through the 2025 football season.

Football game with Maryland canceled; practice paused
The U-M athletic department has paused football practices until Dec. 7, and the Dec. 5 game against Maryland has been canceled and will not be rescheduled, due to COVID-19-related factors.
