    The athletics department has been approved for state liquor licenses and will begin offering the sale of alcohol at events in Crisler Center and Yost Ice Arena starting Feb. 2.

    The Board of Regents has authorized asking the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for liquor licenses that could allow the sale of alcohol at Crisler Center, Michigan Stadium and Yost Ice Arena.

    The university welcomes community input prior to seeking approval from the Board of Regents to consider selling alcohol at certain athletic venues on campus. An online survey will be available through Oct. 6.

    Red Berenson was honored for his 33 seasons of coaching Michigan ice hockey when the rink inside Yost Arena was officially named the Red Berenson Rink at Yost Ice Arena.
