   President Emerita Mary Sue Coleman advised those obtaining U-M master’s and doctoral degrees at the Rackham Graduate Ceremonies that when faced with decisions important to them they should “say yes.”

   Wynton Marsalis, Mary Sue Coleman, Phil Hagerman and Dominique Morisseau, leaders in music, education, philanthropy and art, are being recommended for honorary degrees at Spring Commencement.

   Choreographer to Rackham graduates: ‘Keep it simple’

   At the conclusion of a complex year, Twyla Tharp’s message at the Rackham Graduate Exercises was to “keep it simple.” The acclaimed choreographer and dancer delivered a virtual address to those receiving U-M advanced degrees.

   Civil rights attorney Bryan Stevenson to speak at Spring Commencement

   Bryan Stevenson, a civil rights attorney who has worked to exonerate prisoners on death row, will address U-M graduates at the virtual Spring Commencement. Choreographer Twyla Tharp will speak at the Rackham Graduate Exercises.
