   Dentistry dean Laurie McCauley recommended as next provost

   President Mary Sue Coleman is recommending the appointment of Laurie K. McCauley, dean of the School of Dentistry, as the university’s next provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.

   Philbert relinquishes faculty post effective June 30

   Martin A. Philbert, the former U-M provost who was fired from his executive position in March and was banned from campus, will relinquish his tenured faculty position from the university, effective June 30.

   Regents approve Susan Collins to be interim provost

   Susan M. Collins has been appointed U-M’s interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. She had been serving in an acting capacity since late January.

   U-M provost placed on leave during investigation

   Provost Martin A. Philbert has been placed on administrative leave as an outside law firm hired by the university conducts an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.
