   Drilling for North Campus geo-exchange system nearly done

   Drilling is almost done for the Hayward Street Geothermal Facility, the first major geo-exchange facility at U-M. The system will heat and cool the Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building.

2. February 17, 2022

   Geo-exchange system to generate renewable heating, cooling

   A geo-exchange facility adjacent to the Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building is planned to supply the building’s heating and cooling.

3. December 9, 2021

   Regents approve plan for computer science and information building

   The Board of Regents approved a schematic drawing for the new 163,000-square-foot Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building on North Campus that will be completed in the summer of 2025.

4. October 21, 2021

   $25M gift to help fund computer science, information building

   A $25 million gift from the Leinweber Foundation, founded by software entrepreneur Larry Leinweber, will help fund the Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building.
