   Most in-state undergrads to see no additional tuition costs

   Most in-state undergraduates at U-M will see no increase in out-of-pocket tuition expenses this fall. The FY ’23 budget also includes a $15-per-hour minimum wage for temporary and student employees, and faculty and staff merit programs.

   North Campus housing will expand with approved project

   A $190 million North Campus construction project will add 1,200 beds to student housing. The new residence halls will replace 500 beds in the Northwood III buildings.

   Energy-conserving windows installed at Oxford Houses

   Approximately 16,000 square feet of replacement windows at Oxford Houses student-housing facility are expected to significantly reduce energy use and save heating and cooling costs.

5. June 17, 2021

   U-M extends Go Blue Guarantee, $15 minimum wage to all campuses

   The university will extend its Go Blue Guarantee offering free tuition for qualifying Michigan residents to the Dearborn and Flint campuses. Regents also enacted a $15-an-hour minimum wage for permanent workers.

6. April 23, 2021

   COVID-19 vaccine to be required for students who live on campus

   Students who choose to live on the Ann Arbor campus during the fall term will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. All U-M students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated.

   Plans announced for winter semester academics, housing, increased testing

   The university has announced plans for the 2021 winter semester that include more remote courses, fewer undergraduates living on campus and more widely available COVID-19 testing.

   The Board of Regents has approved a 2020-21 budget that includes a 1.9 percent tuition increase and $12.8 million in additional need-based financial aid for undergraduates on the Ann Arbor campus.

   Proposed FY ’21 university budget fails on split vote by Board of Regents

   U-M will enter the new fiscal year July 1 without an approved budget after regents voted 4-4 on a measure that included a 1.9 percent tuition increase for Ann Arbor campus students.
